I just discovered the Advanced Labeling tool in the symbology panel for symbolizing stretched rasters. Love it! Does anyone know if there's a way to show tick marks along the ramp in the legend so you can tell exactly where along the ramp the labels are referencing. I think in ArcMap there would at least be top and bottom tick marks. Thanks.
You could adjust the labels to include em dashes (—) at the beginning of each number, which would help point to the color bar.
Then you could try to adjust the settings to make the labels as close to the bar as possible to make the dashes touch the color bar, or convert to graphics and move them manually.
Thanks. I thought about that but then the position is based on where/how that particular font displays, and maybe not at the exact point along the ramp. I was just hoping the advanced labeling functionality went a little further.
Oh, I see what you mean. Doing it that way would make it obvious that the top and bottom are incorrectly placed since they should point to the very top and very bottom, and not at the center of the font.
I don't think there's a way to do it natively. Could be a good idea post if so. But I thought of a better workaround:Add those em dashes in the labels, convert to graphics while in the layout view, ungroup the text labels, and align the top label's dash to the top of the ramp. Then align the bottom label's dash to the bottom of the ramp. Then highlight all the labels, right click, go to distribute, and select distribute vertical centers. That way the tick marks should be pointing to the exact point along the ramp.
