I like to customize my experiences for the different device views, and while I always use the same widgets if I can, sometimes I find myself needing or wanting to use a different widget for functionality reasons or aesthetics.
For example, sometimes I like to set up charts differently in desktop vs. tablet and mobile. I'm not necessarily worried about forgetting to update each set if/when I do, but it would be really nice to just see at a glance where a widget is being used, and I'm sure it would make things easier for my coworkers if they had to take over my experience.
In the pending list, we can see where a widget is being used. For example, when I'm on the desktop view, I can see that this chart is being used in the tablet and mobile device views:
What I'm proposing is that the device views be added somewhere to the widget configuration pane, e.g.:
