Import CAD to Indoors Dataset Errors

Hello,

I am the only individual in my organization that edits/manipulates the data in indoors. We are in the process of adding new facilities and new floor plans to our database. I take CAD files (published by my boss) and attempt to run the tool to add the new units, details, levels etc to our database but constantly have issues. The tool either stalls at 4%, fails with error codes 999999, 180590, or BufferTemp table not found. I am not sure how to solve this issue.

All feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the additional info and screenshots. Aaron's suggestion to run the Upgrade Indoors Database tool is a good idea -- thanks @AaronKoelker !

There's a message that the CAD being imported is in a different spatial reference than the Indoors data. Is that expected? Please list the spatial references of the CAD and the Indoors dataset, as reported in Pro under the Properties for each.
70 Units features are being deleted and 0 Units features are being added. Is that expected? If not, what's the expected result?
Can you manually rebuild the indices on Levels and Details after the tool run? This can be done under the feature class Properties > Indexes > Spatial Index > Recalculate (see screenshot).

At ArcGIS Pro 3.5 there's a known issue where Error 180590 can happen when the CAD has polylines that are very small (less than a millimeter). The issue has been addressed in ArcGIS Pro 3.6. In AutoCAD, you can select and delete tiny objects using QSELECT with the Length property.
The 999999 error screenshot includes a message, "Request entity too large (status code 413)". This is an HTTP issue that can be caused when a web request tries sending data larger than the server is configured to allow. Here's another Community thread with the same issue and a Solution you can try.

Have you tried running the Upgrade Indoors Database GP tool recently? I've found that often when I start getting errors like this with Indoors data, running this tool resolves the issue. Especially if I was mucking around with schema, domains, or copying layers in and out.

Hello!

1) We are on version 3.5.2 on Enterprise. We do most of the editing in branch versioning.

2) I have attached 3 instances of failed tools with parameters and their corresponding messages. I was not able to get a screen shot of the instances where the tool is stuck at 4% progression after hours of running.

I do understand for the images for Floor 3 the tool ran successfully to an extent. It deleted all the unit data and failed to replace it with the new units. It successfully updated levels and details.

3) We do use the Indoors diagnostic checks that reside in AutoCAD!

I hope this helps out a bit more.

Hi EBerg — sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues. Dan's questions and advice are spot-on, especially re: Esri Support having the experience/data/tools to get to root causes quickly. Here's a few questions they're likely to ask; answers will also help the Community better understand your predicament / offer better advice:

What version of ArcGIS Pro are you using?
Can you provide screenshots of the History --> Failed run --> View Details, of both the Parameters and Messages? Sounds like you're getting different results for different runs; if so, a pair of these screenshots for each issue would be helpful.

Also, if you or your boss is using AutoCAD and is amenable to it, there's a free Esri product, ArcGIS for AutoCAD, that includes some ArcGIS Indoors-specific diagnostic checks that can help identify potential issues in the CAD prior to attempting to import it into Pro. Esri Training has a 45min video course (you'll need an account with Esri Maintenance to access it) with guidance and best practices: Getting Started with ArcGIS Indoors for AutoCAD
