Subnetwork Controller for more than one tier

Question

Working on a Water Distribution Utility Network Prototype. I've successfully delineated the "Water System" Tier 1 subnetwork using a "Source" subnetwork controller which is at an intake on a river. I've also been able to delineate most of our Tier 2 "Pressure Zone" subnetworks.

The question I have is, how to delineate the gravity-fed Tier 2 subnetwork (in our case named "G0"). Essentially this would seem to need to use the same subnetwork controller as was used to delineate the Water System Tier 1 tier. But as far as I can tell, a subnetwork controller can only participate in a single tier. Would I need to create a second "dummy" subnetwork controller just downstream of the source? Or is there another better way to approach this?

Correct, a device can only be a subnetwork controller from a single tier. Yes, you would need to create a separate controller for the pressure tier than you would for the system tier. While you could create a dummy controller, it's quite likely that there is some kind of actual device in the field that you could model in your GIS to do this accurately. Is this a pump or backflow preventer for the well? I have also seen instances where gravity-fed zones and pressure zones co-mingle, but there is a weir keeping the two zones isolated.

Thanks Robert! Since we're in prototype mode, I just created a dummy subnetwork controller for the gravity-fed pressure zone for the time being. The Source subnetwork controller (tier 1) is also just a dummy point. From there, water travels through a complicated treatment plant which we don't intend to model in the UN. So I'm essentially just picking up the flow as it enters the transmission mains as it exits the treatment plant for the G0 pressure zone.
