Updating GDB item doesn't update Feature Layer

I have a hosted feature layer in my AGOL, which is created from a zipped FGDB uploaded to AGOL.

Shouldn't the "Update Data" button on the FGDBs page not update both the GDB item and its published hosted feature layer? If the data is updated in the hosted feature layer, it doesn't update the "schema updated" or "data updated" time stamp in the feature layer item page.

Am i wrong to assume, that it should work this way?

I know i can update the hosted feature layer directly in its item page - but for the current workflow i have now, it is set up to update the GDB item.

Hi @BijanTaheri , 

The Update Data button on the FGDBs item page will only update the associated FGBD file. It will not update the hosted feature layer that was published from the FGDB.

If you want to update your hosted feature layer, you will need to access the Update Data workflow from the hosted feature layer's item details page. Then, depending on how you want to update your data, you can select an option (Add, Update, Add and update, Overwrite).
