The images get deleted on a configured time schedule that is set on ArcGIS Server. Otherwise the server would be overloaded with images that are no longer in use.

No. If you look in your posted image:

Click Site tab at the very top of the page
Click Directories on that new page.
Click the pencil/edit button on the Output directory.
Adjust "Maximum file age (minutes)"
