Creating a complicated polygon-shaped shapefile

Hi all.

I am currently using Arcmap and am wondering what the best route is to create a shapefile for my project area. I tried using the draw tool to create a polygon, but it is a large area and can't get the shape to be accurate. Is there a way for me to edit the shape of the polygon after creating it? (for various corners, etc.)

s1eroo, Arcmap's creating/editing tools allows the creation of simple, complicated, as well as very large polygons, with panning and simultaneous editing.  Can you describe the issue(s) and tools you're using.
