Hello, basically I'm putting put insect traps in fields and I have quite a few potential sites but need to narrow it down to about 5 maybe more, I want to use arc to determine what sites to use. I will have a polygon of the area and point for sites and I want to have it to where each site will be as close to evenly spaced as possible. I just don't remember what functions to use. I did something similar in college but don't have the lab anymore. Any ideas?
Really depends what your polygon looks like. if a fairly regular shape, then the last answer here https://community.esri.com/t5/data-management-questions/create-150-equally-spaced-points-in-a-region/m-p/352875
is to create a fishnet and with label points option ticked. But gets more complex the more irregular your boundary is, with no single trivial solution.
