Interact with embedded Dashboard from Query Widget

Question

Hi All

I have trawled through the Forums but still cant quite out how to do this.  I have embedded a Dashboard into EB using a url parameter (   https://xyz.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/xyz#key_area={Key_Area}

What I want to do is from the query widget in EB select a key area hand have to Dashboard zoom and filter based on that selection.  I have added to same data source to both the query widget and the Dashboard. I know that this must be doable but for the life of me I cant get the interaction to work.

I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Query widget allows you to set the selected framework item so maybe the following answer helps you sovle your problem?

@ChrisRoberts2 Query utilizes the in-house data sources, and Dashboard is an external content to the ExB app (embedded).

We have widget-to-widget interactions based on the same ds (filtering) or message/data actions [all of them are in-house], and we also support the URL control - but only from the top level to widgets (app URL param -> external embedded content).

But we have not supported the vice versa (in-house widget -> app -> external embedded content).
