Map frame is blank in layout. The data is visible in the map view but when I add the map frame to the layout, I see a white box only.
If you are still experiencing this issue with the latest patch of 3.1 (3.1.2) please submit your project package to Esri Support so we can determine what is going wrong.
Hi,
I have updated to the latest version of ArcGIS Pro (3.1 version, June, 2023), but still facing this problem
UPDATE: ArcGIS Pro 3.1 (out now) resolves this issue.
ArcGIS Pro 3.1 release resolves these issues with blend modes
Dear Sujan, I've faced the same problem, how I can reset the blended layers to normal?thanks
The resolution for this issue will be in the next release of ArcGIS Pro (3.1)
I am using both Blend Modes and Clip to Outline in my project. My Map Frames in Layouts all appear empty when viewing in Pro they do export to PDF and print ok though. I hope there will be a fix soon.
@JeremyWright Was there ever a fix for this? I just updated to ArcGIS Pro 3 and am experiencing the same issue. As soon as I turn layer blending on everything in the map frame disappears.
All, there is a fix forthcoming for this in the next release of ArcGIS Pro.
@JeremyWright , I have been encountering the same issues with blend layers preventing the map frame from displaying in the layout. I can confirm that I am using clipping with the map frame.
We have discovered a negative interaction between map frame clipping and blend modes, which we are working on resolving at present. Can you confirm whether your map has any Layer clipping enabled? This would be in the map properties under Clip Layers.
If you do have clipping, and you disable it, does the map frame then draw?
Was there ever any solution to this problem? I have this exact bug since I just updated to ArcGIS Pro 3, where the map displays in a layout as blank if there are any layers with layers blends activated. Set them to normal, map reappears. It's repeatable across projects. I can export the map, blank frame and it will be in the exported file, but I cannot see for working on map while in layout, which severely complicates production.
I just DM'd you my email so you can ping me and I can create an ad-hoc FTP transfer account so you can send your Project Package.
Hi @JeremyWright , how do you want me to share the map package with you? Could you please share an email address with me?
@SujanDS please package your project and send it to support with a description of the bug so we can resolve it in a future release.
It does seem like a bug. I'm having this issue across multiple ArcGIS Pro projects and the maps are visible once I turn the layers with layer blends off.
As far as I know layer blending should display in the map frame as it does in the map view. Sounds like there is a bug.
Thanks guys for your responses. Tried them all and I think I figured out what the problem was. I had a few layers with Layer Blends on my map. Resetting those to normal made the map visible in layout.
Hi Sujan,
I see service layer credits text appearing in the bottom left corner of the map frame. This tells me you have a service layer in your map. It is possible that the service layer has scale dependencies set and will not draw at certain scales. You might want to change the map scale of the map frame to test this. You can do this by either activating the map frame and using the mouse to zoom in/out, or you can change the scale by using the scale control at the bottom left of the layout view window.
Clearing your cache may also help.
If the problems persists can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support.
Hope this helps.
