Demo App or real?

Is it possible to use this app with my own arcgis online account or arcgis server? It seems like the app is only a demonstration...

Thanks for the question, yes this is a real app and not a demo. More information and resources are in the process of rolling out over the next 24hrs to help you get started with the Collector for ArcGIS.

I followed the instructions described in order to set the Track Location but after re-saving the map, the properties were not displayed. Also, I shared the map, generated the link and sent it via email. Once received and clicked to open, it never requested to be open using the Collector for ArcGIS app nor was not able to open it from the app itself.
Is it a ready-to-use app or is it still under development?

The link didn't work for me either. You should try to copy and paste the link from the email to your browser, this way I could manage to open the map with Collector app.
I used this schema: arcgis-collect://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/<map ID>/data

Thanks! It did actually worked that way. Anyone knows about the Track Location issue? Has it been deployed in AGOL already??

You will need to have an ArcGIS Online Subscription account to publish a hosted feature service that is configured to be a tracking layer. Here are the steps below on how to create this layer and configure it once your map is created.

The org or link you pasted is not shared so I cannot access the map to see what is wrong. If you want you can invite mobileios to the group with the map in it and I can check it out.

I just sent you an invite to 2 of our maps. After I click on the link in my email, it seems to want to start up. I can see a blank map for a moment with the Collector tool bar at the bottom, but then it just quits loading and goes to a blank screen.

I cannot find any to the point instructions on how to track the location of a data collector using the combination of Collector and Operational Dashboard. Everything I have seen suggests at all you have to do is add a location tracking feature service to your map save it. Fire up operational dashboard add the map, and Bobs your uncle everything works fine.

But this is not the case.

Can someone direct me to where I can find clear instructions on the process, requirements, etc.
