The Port of Oakland is seeking qualified candidates for the position of GIS/LIS Administrator. The Port of Oakland needs a comprehensive GIS system that will include all aviation and maritime facilities along with commercial real estate. This provides an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining a GIS system from the ground up along with experience in project management and managing internal staff and consultants.
Under general direction, the primary responsibility of the incumbent is to exercise Responsible Charge over the current aging Port of Oakland’s GIS system. The successful candidate will analyze and overhaul the existing GIS system to meet industry standards, protocols and conventions for data sharing between local government organizations and private entities in support of the Aviation, Maritime and Commercial Real Estate revenue lines.
