Legend Limiter for ArcGIS Server

In ArcGIS Desktop you can limit the legend items for a feature class that is symbolized with Unique value categories (e.g. Soil layer with 200 unique values only shows the 10 unique values in the current view's extent).  It would be extremely useful for web applications if this capability can be translated into ArcGIS Server.
