Barcode Scanning Inconsistent

Question

Hello,

Has anyone experienced issues with barcode sensitivity?

Our techs using the field app are spending way too much time waiting for the barcode to read.

All barcode types are enabled and we are using Samsung S6 and S8 phones for collection.

Hi James,

Thanks for the suggestion.  Through process of elimination I narrowed our barcodes down to two types and have only those selected.  It seems to be speeding up the process.

One follow-up question...

Is there a "best" phone to use in the field?

Hi Jeff,

In particular, the PDF417 barcode format is very complex and will slow down responsiveness of the control.  I would recommend limiting the code formats to process to only those that you use.
