Peter has some good points there. I sounds like you may have already adjusted the servers max records property if you are getting near 3000 though. This thread was closed in the old forums in favor of the new thread Peter has linked. Some how in the move to GeoNet this thread was reopened.

If you can post your eSearchWidget.xml in this link Enhanced-Search-Widget-for-FlexViewer Part III‌ I can look at the issue.

Timothy Hales‌ is it possible to close a thread to future comments as it was in the old forums? I had gotten Jim to close this thread due to size.

There is a setting in ArcGIS server that usually limits returned records to 500 or 1000, you can check this. Also I would make sure the field in question is indexed.

I am currently in the process of developing an enterprise GIS application and I am having problems as it relates to querying using the eSearch widget. All queries using ESRI’s basic search widget works , however any query using the eSearch widget hangs if the number of returns to the query is > 3000.

All other queries on the same field using the eSearch widget are successful. I have used the ‘repaired geometry’ tool on the data-set in question but it still does not work. Could you please assist. This problem has been occurring for months. I am desperate for a solution and any guidance would be appreciated.

I don't have a good clue on that.

After much testing, I found that the relate doesn't work when you have two layers pointed at the same data source where one has a definition query. In my case, the definition query was not even on the layer I had the relate on. This seems to be an ESRI bug. I have not yet gotten around to reporting it, but I plan to.

The relates are pointing at tables in the same enterprise geodatabase as the feature classes they are related to (there are also relationship classes for each relationship in that same geodatabase). The entire geodatabase is registered in the datastore.

When you click Query Related Records you will need to have an Object ID for one record in your layer, the Relationship ID: is the first number (0) in the text you posted, the Out Fields: just use *, and click the get button.

I think the issue is somehow associated with how my relationships are set up. The related tables are in the SDE geodatabase with relationship classes. In my rest services they do not show up like your examples in other forum posts. Mine show up like this:
LIMS.GIS.SSMAINASBUILTS (0) -- Related To: LIMS.GIS.SSMAINASBUILTS (45)
LIMS.GIS.SSTVPROJECTS (1) -- Related To: LIMS.GIS.SSTVPROJECTS (47)
Does that shed any more light on the issues? If I set up relates within the map document, it just duplicates that same Rest Relationship summary.

OK, but the fact that it works in ArcMap is only half the battle. Now you need to test a Query of the related data using the REST End point. Can you post the test of your relates from the rest service page like I did?

Not sure if this is what you meant. I tried clicking the query button, but that form doesn't give me a lot of instructions and I'm not clear on what to put in each textbox. I was getting an error (Unable to complete operation) when I entered just a whereclause and tried to run it.

I have tried everything to duplicate your error using the latest version of the eSearchWidget... I added a relate with a field that has a pdf file name in it and set that up using a virtual directory and added the linkprefix and linksuffix and worked fine... The only thing I see off in your xml is th fact that relate fields don not need the gridfield="true" attribute because they can only be in the grid, but I tested that too and I could not get an error... Are you using version 3.2.2 of the eSearch and Flex Viewer 3.2?

I created virtual directories as you suggested, but the hyperlink function is still causing errors in my map. I have included the configuration xml file as well as screenshots before clicking the hyperlink field and after. What is expecially interesting to me is where the pop-up for the feature end up after hitting the hyperlinked field. The other oddity when the map goes white is that every widget tip when you hover over the widget tray displays as the Identify tool. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all,

I'm having an issue with relates. I see them in my mxd. I see them in my Rest service. I've failed to have eSearch pulling them up. I can search the layer and return results, but no related records show up in my data grid.
I'm using the 3.2.2 release.

"If you are using a layer that contains a join than the full join field name should be used." Is this true for relates as well? It doesn't seem to work either way. Here's my relates config:

Casey,

Event though you might consider this an intranet application the Flex Viewer is an internet application and thus you should not be using links that are using UNC paths. You need to create a virtual directory for your \\hera\gis\Asbuilts\Scanned\ folder that way you can add a real url to the link.

I have successfully configured hyperlinks in my related table results, but when I click on the link (which successfully opens the link in a new browser tab) my web map view becomes a white screen and most functionality is not responsive. The web page must be reloaded to get the map back.
Any ideas?

To find out what you data is in, you can just go to the rest/services directory, click on the feature of interest and see what it lists for Spatial Reference.

I got the eSearch Widget working thanks to your assitance with the code (thank you very much). Now I am having a problem with the accuracy of the buffer. Buffer distances are being applied at roughly 2/3 of the specified distance. I am wondering if this could be a projection issue? Any ideas?

I see the issue in the code. Are you using the widgets source code version? I don't put out compiled minor fixes like this for older versions of the widget.

Technically the files are on the web server (which is loaded on the same machine as ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Viewer for Flex Application Builder). However, I think (???) my hang-up may have something to do with not having the Web Adapter piece in place. Even without that piece in place I was able to systematically test some things as long as I was testing within our network. That is why I was confused when the Esearch function didn't work even though everything else (i.e. viewing the application as designed, seeing data with appropriate scale dependencies, identifying features with your Identify widget, etc.) seemed to work just fine. But I'm willing to concede that my problems might have something to do with the Web Adapter which is slated to be installed and configured next week. Perhaps I'll wait until then before losing any more sleep over this...

I am using version 3.0.17f. When I set diablelinksifnull="true" it won't show some of the images even though there is data in the field. When I set it to false, it does display the images. What am I doing wrong?
