Current location vs location tracking in Workforce database

I see in the Workforce administrators troubleshooting page, it says that even if you turn location tracking off, the mobile workers' current locations are still shown on the maps.

Looking at the database schema then, is the mobile app updating the Shape field of the Workers table when location tracking is turned off?

Correct.  When location tracking (historic tracks) is disabled, Workforce will continue to update the Last Known Location of those Workers who Working Status is set to Working.  It will not update the Last Known Location of those Workers who Working Status is set to On Break or Not Working
