ArcMap 10.1 crashes every time I try to save mxd

Question

Help! ArcMap hangs up every single time I try to save an .mxd. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's a brand new, blank map or an existing one. I've uninstalled and then re-installed and still no use. Any ideas?
