How do I load a map document from ArcGis into an online story map journal? I have tried several times but I saw somewhere that map documents are not accepted. Help

In order to get the data from your map document into a format that is compatible with Story Map templates in ArcGIS Online, the data needs to be published to your ArcGIS Online account. Please see the documentation below for steps on how to publish your data from either ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Desktop to ArcGIS Online.
