Using symbolized classes to summarize attributes?

Question

Hi, I find myself needing to summarize certain attributes (i.e. length of features) for classified groups under the symbology tab in layer properties, is this possible?

You can see the summarize of your field in symbology tab if you do the following:

Go to symbology of layer properties , use Quintiles symbology , then click classify as in the picture and you will find the summarize of field in classification statistics window.

or

you can use Summary Statistics—Help | ArcGIS Desktop to get summarize table then decide how to symbolize it.
