But why is ArcGISIndexingServer running and taking up 20% of my CPU when I don't have any ArcGIS Desktop opened? And I have not used ArcMap or Pro in over a week?
What are you indexing settings in Pro?
Update the search index for project items—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop
The default is to update the index periodically.
