What are peoples reasons for using Dimension Feature Classes over Line Feature Classes?

Have discovered that dimension feature classes (even though they are considered a type of annotation) cannot be used in Mobile Map Packages (MMPK). So for now that's our road block to using them, otherwise we were going ahead with using them.
