Fail to register database on ArcGIS server

Question

I am getting this error when trying to register a MS SQL database on ArcGIS server 10.2 ???Error registering item, Error saving the dataspace to file.???

Does anyone has any idea what might have caused it?
I really appreciate your help.

I doubt that this case will happen to anyone else, but here goes.

Apparently the problem was that the arcgisuser and arcgismanager didn't have the required permissions over the arcgisserver folder. Once they were granted the permission the issue was fixed.
