telecom model - hybrid fiber and microwave

Looking for any discussions on any previous attempts to model a hybrid telecom model that isn't all cable-based assets but also microwave towers. Typical scenario is fiber to microwave tower to fiber.

...and I would like to ask the same.  Our situation is mostly microwave connectivity, with a little fiber added in for alternate routes.  Anyone from Esri Telecommunications User Group (Esri TelUG)​ or Utilities and Communications​?
