sample flex viewer loading really slow

I am running the sample flex viewer from IIS 5.1 (Windows XP).  When I open it in Internet Explorer, the banner loads incredibly slow.  I didn't have this problem until I installed ArcGIS Server on my PC (Enterprise Advanced .NET).  I am trying to configure the sample viewer to consume services from ArcGIS Online AND dynamic services that I publish using Server.

This small problem is quite annoying and is hindering my progress.  I tried removing and re-copying the sample viewer folder in the IIS directory.  This didn't work.  Eventually it does load, but I'm sure this problem can be fixed.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Any resolution here?  I'm having the same issue IE 8.
