Hello James,
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 or later is a software requirement, see Required software for ArcGIS Maps for Office.
There are essentially three ways that any particular version of the .NET Framework would get installed:
Hopefully this clairfies the installation process. Have a great day and please let me know if there are any further questions or if additional clarification is needed.
Best,
Shannon
Does anyone have an idea about why downloading and installing the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office works to get rid of the error?
I did want to clarify that I'm talking about the same error in the following:
Supporting Files Installed
ArcGIS Maps for Office 4.1 cannot be installed on this computer. Check that Office 2010 or later is installed. Select the Install Prerequisites button to install the required Office features.
I had this same problem. Here is the updated link for the solution David Klein posted.
Download Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime from Official Microsoft Download Center
Just worked for me too. Thanks for the help Dave!
Mariela - have you tried installing the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office (linked above)? I believe the 2010 installer should work for you as well.
I am having the same problem, but office 2013
Any ideas?
Thank you
Thank you for the reply! That is exactly what I needed as well!
Figured it out! I was missing:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime (x64)
Available for download here:
Anyone ever figure out exactly which files were missing? I'm now struggling with this same problem...
I'm a local admin. My excel and powerpoint are complete installs. What's missing???
We got it sorted out, it seemed to be some sort of visual basic install we had to do. I'll get the specifics.
I have this same issue. Would really like to know what Supporting Files are missing!
I'm trying to install maps for office on my laptop. During the install the system check window pops up and I get a X next to the "supporting files installed". It tells me to check that office 2010 or later is installed, which it is. And then to select the install prerequisites button to installed the required office features, which I do. I get nothing, it just goes back to the system check window and the same instructions. Can anyone help me?
