Modify vertices failed: true curves not allowed

Just upgraded to ArcGIS PRo 2.5 and now when I go to modify vertices on hosted feature layer (polygon) and want to change line segment to circular arc I get the following error: Modify vertices failed. Field is not editable. [Updating true curves not allowed.  Check server settings allow TrueCurvesUpdates and onlyAllowTrueCurveUpdatesByTrueCurveClients.]  What is going on and how do I fix it?  ArcGIS Pro 2.4 I could change segment to circular arc or bezier curve no problem.

I should also add that hosted feature layers do not currently support storing true curves in the data source. So curves are always 'densified' when created in these layers.
