georeferenced pdf no longer visible in ArcGIS Pro map

Good afternoon, I am georeferencing jpg (mainly) and pdf (occasionally) as-built utility files in ArcGIS Pro 3.5.3. I had georeferenced a PDF file and was adding sanitary sewer cleanout features, when the PDF simply disappeared. 'Zoom to layer' takes the map to the correct location. I have a few other georeferenced jpg imagery files in the map pane, which I can turn on/off, and when clicked on they are visible. I have closed/reopened Pro, rebooted my laptop, but the PDF remains invisible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Jay

Try these checks/workarounds (they match the common reasons a georeferenced PDF can be “there” but not drawing, especially since Zoom to layer goes to the right spot):

1) Check it isn’t being filtered from drawing

• Visible scale range: Right-click the PDF layer > Properties > look for any visibility range limits, or on the ribbon check Visibility Range. Clear/disable it and try again.Doc: Display layers at certain scales
• Transparency / Effects: Make sure the layer transparency isn’t at/near 100% and no blend mode is making it invisible.
• Order: Move the PDF layer to the very top of the Contents drawing order to ensure it isn’t being covered.

2) Force it to draw in the current view (common after a transform)

If you were in a georeferencing session, reselect the PDF layer and use Fit to Display to pull it back into the current extent. KB workflow: How To: Add PDF files as basemaps in ArcGIS Pro

3) Remove and re-add the PDF layer

Sometimes the layer’s draw state gets “stuck” even though the project knows its extent. Remove the PDF from the map and add it back.

4) Most reliable workaround for PDF display: convert it to a GeoTIFF and digitize from that. Run PDF To TIFF and use the output GeoTIFF for heads-up digitizing (this avoids PDF rendering issues entirely).
