Survey123 select_one lists not populating in iOS 26.1

Question

Survey (published using Survey123 Connect) hasn't been updated since 11/07/2025 and was functioning properly until Mac devices upgraded to iOS 26.1.

Note from a user: the dropdown/autocomplete fields are broken/not displaying any data. We tested on both Safari and Chrome and it happens on both. Seems to be a operating system level issue affecting webviews of Survey123 forms. It’s working as expected on iOS18 (the previous version).

Select_one lists are populating properly on Android devices. Is this a known bug?

Update: this is now logged as BUG-000181201: "ArcGIS Survey123 forms with a select-one and select one from list questions configured with the 'autocomplete' appearance display unexpected behavior when accessed on an IOS mobile device using the browser (Safari, Google Chrome)."

Suggested workaround: either access the survey form on the mobile app or on a desktop device. (Not a viable option for us, since so many users access the survey in the browser).

Another option might be to update the appearance to a different type (either "compact" or "minimal") to allow users to select the values they need while hopefully maintaining the look and user friendly appearance of the survey form.

Just wanted to return here to report an update from Esri Support.

Esri Support was able to reproduce the behavior: when adding values to the autocomplete search, the pre-set values appear in the 'keyboard banner' not in the 'pop-up' seen in the mobile app or desktop view. The behavior was seen on all three devices they tested on:

* iPhone: 17, IOS 26.1
* iPhone: 11, IOS 18.6.2
* Google Pixel 8 Pro, android version 16

They generated a write up about the defective behavior, but I haven't seen a documented bug yet. The Support tech said they would mess around with different "appearance" types in the XLSX and see how the list question behaves.

Thanks for your reply. I'm hesitant to mess with the XLSX syntax since I've iterated on it so much in the past, and it was finally working for the last few months. But I'll ping my supervisor to see if it's ok to share here in case there's a simple fix.

Looks like I don't have the proper permissions to contact Esri Support (!) so maybe I can get the admin from my org to do so. Thanks again!
