The ArcGIS Maps SDK for Local Server has been deprecated and will be retired in 2030. If you have applications that use Local Server, it is time to start planning your migration to the use of core capabilities provided directly by ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps.

@MichaelBranscomb Thank you for the heads up!
Regarding
Offline geoprocessing tools are not supported. Esri plans to add high-performance on-device spatial analysis tools in future updates to the ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps.
Is there a timeline on these features, or any information to track this progress?
A hard requirement for us is to do fast and offline elevation profile / viewshed analyses. A custom solution seems to be the only solution so far. Geoprocessing Tasks using the Local Server were way too slow in our experience, 5+ seconds, instead of a required <1 second. So I wonder if these announced offline geoprocessing tools will have better performance.
@imbachb
We're planning to start introducing these new tools in 2026 - most likely starting with viewshed. They're designed to be fast and run offline. We've shown demos of early prototypes at our European Dev Summit in Berlin in 2024, and will show our most recent progress during the upcoming Dev & Tech Summit in Palm Springs. You can find a little more background on the project in the Local Server 200.6 release post. We'd love to discuss your requirements further: feel free to email us on ArcGISLocalServerDeprecation@esri.com, and beyond that, we're always happy to setup a virtual meeting to discuss (again, contact us via the email above).
Thanks
