Label values being shown instead of name values after exporting data

Hello,

I am working on a survey that I am trying to adjust the field names so that when they are exported they are database legible (i.e., underscore, camel-casing, etc.). When I change the 'Name' values in the modify schema to the desired field names for our database, they are still exported as the 'Label' names that are displayed in the survey.

Can anyone out there offer some advice/a solution so that it exports the data with the field names it says it is supposed to? This is a bit frustrating and the documentation for this is rather poor. Thanks in advance for any help!

I was able to use the bind::esri:fieldAlias column in the XLSForm and copied the names there, and they show up in the csv export.

Well that's rather unfortunate and seems like it would be an easy fix for the Survey123 team. I appreciate the insight!

If you use database operations (like a SQL connection, Power Automate, etc.), it should use the hidden name. But if you use a CSV export, yes, it uses a mix of name/label. It's really frustrating, and I don't believe there is a workaround for that behaviour since it's baked into the system.
