Trimble Juno SB Emulator

I'm looking to do some how-to videos on our Trimble Juno SB for common tasks related to acquiring data.

Ideally, I'd like a Windows Mobile Emulator for my desktop computer from which I can apply a Trimble Juno SB skin so that it mimics the work environment for our clients/users. I did some google searching and to my surprise, I didn't find anything obvious. I know that I've seen some emulators used in ESRI demos before, so I'm curious what you're using and if it's possible to apply a custom skin that will mimic our client's devices.

Hi Erik,

1.) If you're looking for displaying for presentations, I would recommend PC Pro, which you could get a trial at http://www.soti.net/PCPro/KeyFeatures.aspx

That piece of software allows you to hookup a trimble unit to your computer and display exactly what's going on. There are also skins you can apply (such as Juno skin) to make it look just like your device.

2.) If you're developing an extension for ArcGIS Mobile, you can use the emulator package for visual studio. I would recommend using the built in tools for Windows Mobile 6 Professional. This is available at:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=6135 (download the full professional edition and install after you have visual studio installed).

When you have that installed, you can activate the emulator in visual studio by going to tools --> connect to device --> Windows Mobile 6 Professional SDK --> Click connect on the device you choose. You also have to make sure you have active sync installed. There's a video in the arcgis mobile videos section if you need. (because you have to cradle the device using device manager to pick it up as a device in active sync which will allow you to connect to your internal network.)
