Hi all I have a large map I'd like to convert to 1:3000 scale, that I 'd like to mount on stiff backing. My question is once I convert the map to scale how do I figure out what size backing I need?

why not print the map, then get it mounted?
Well its a large map and I'm going to have to convert the scale but I think it may end up being to big to fit on the largest size backing so i'd like to know if I need to split the map or not.
It wouldn't matter if the scalebar was printed on the map, as it should be, prior to mounting the map onto the backing
