Bookmarks in embedded Mapviewer beta

How can I access bookmarks in a Mapviewer Beta (to allow blended overlay) map I added to a story map?
(see Update 7 in Maps that tell a story)

You can add your map to one of the configurable apps that supports bookmarks, share that app with Everyone, and then add that app to the story using the Embed option.
