I just installed ArcGIs explorer 2012 Betá on one of my computers, which had an ArcGIS explorer 1750 installation. We are not using ArcGIS Explorer yet, because of the limitations\configuration of our proxy server (according to the local ESRI branch). ArcGIS explorer crashes when accessing online data.I was hoping this problem might be solved in the 2012 version, however when initiating the new version after showing the initial screen ArcGIS explorer crashes withou any message. Cheers,Bart
Esri is phasing out the complimentary use of Bing Maps in its ArcGIS products. The final version of ArcGIS Explorer 2012 as well as other Esri products will be "Bing Ready", which will allow you to input a Bing Maps key that you obtain directly from Microsoft. After you input the key you will be able to use Bing maps as you did previously.Mark
As mentioned before, I can see my ArcGIS Online maps that I have created; however, I cannot see any of my data when opening them. Most of my maps are a feature service right now. Does ArcGIS Explorer handle feature services yet?Thank you,Jarom
Hello:Is there an estimate for a release date (week, month, season...) for ArcGIS Explorer Desktop 2012 final? Will there be another beta release? I cannot find any way to get "About..." info in the UI, to get the build number. I'm probably missing it. The executable I have says 2.0.0.1995. Is there a more recent beta? And, for a follow up, is there any official or semi-official statement about this product's future development, in light of the upcoming (at some point) release of the ArcGIS "Viewer" for Windows? Thanks,Harry
I have an inquiry regarding the add GIS service on ArcGIS Explorer. How do I connect my citrix server database to be utilized in ArcGIS Explorer? I have tried using this URL (http://citrix/Citrix/XenApp/site/default.aspx?NFuse_CurrentFolder=%5cDesktop%20GIS), but it fails to connect. I pray to the GIS gods that I can eventually link the server to this awesome piece of software.Hans Geo-Spatial AnalystOSHPD
Thank you very much for your reply. I can now see my maps through the search button as you have mentioned

When do you expect public release?
I tried to open the attribute table on one of my file gdb feature classes. It has 7 million records and a bunch of fields (mostly Y, N). ArcGIS Explorer became unresponsive and I noticed that memory usage hit 3 GB and then the application crashed. Was the software trying to load in all the features?
Add from ArcGIS online is replaced by the search window.

HelloWe are currently testing ArcGIS Explorer Desktop Beta Build 2035 and just want to let you know that geosearch capability isn't working. We have no problem using a new service, http://geocode.arcgis.com and geosearch in ArcGIS Desktop 10 but it does not seem to be working in the current version of ArcGIS Explorer Desktop Beta. Are you planning to fix it by next upcoming release? Thanks,Sach
Are there any plan to support ArcGIS explorer on mac o/s?regards,Stefan
I recently installed the Beta 2012 version and for some reason cannot access my groups and my maps from ArcGIS online. Was this feature taken out? In the 1750 version, there was an option under the ArcGIS Explorer button where you could click on ArcGIS online and view that information.Thank you!
ArcGIS Explorer beta is not doing the filehandling correctly for .gcpk files form ArcGIS online. From the Website you can download the .gcpk file to your local disk and add it through the ArcGIS Explorer options.File MenuArcGIS Explorer options buttonResourcesManage Locators - Locators buttonand add Locator.-mark
Hi there,I don't seem to be able to add Locator Packages to AGX from AGO. Whenever I search for type:locator and then click on the results (either for my own or the US Postal one) I get the following error:Failed to add file(s):-c:\users\sxc\AppData\Local\Temp\E3\_esri_search_temp6932\isxbnqx0.pkinfo (Invalid File). Also is there any way to add the locator directly (without having to first upload to AGO).Cheers,Scott.
Should the 1750 Data Access Extension work with the beta?
I noticed that in the Beta install directory there are now arcpy and Python directories. What are those used for?
