Taking Huge time when saving mxd after assign symbology

I have nearly 20 FeatureLayrs in Current Document , where i  have changed symbology using inbuilt Geo-processing tool "ApplySymbologyFromLayer" through programming. Till this step has no issue, changing symbology in one minute ,  if i attempt to save this document  taking 5 to 7 minutes to save. Please help me to solve this issue...
