Attachments-File Geodatabase Table Join

I have created a feature class in a file geodatabase and added a large number of attachments for it. I now need to join this feature class to an excel table to populate my attributes but when I join and try to export the join it deletes all my attachments. From what I have been reading this is because the FIDs are reindexced. Does anybody know a workaround for this? Thanks
