Hello T3Gers, this is an issue which some of you are running into, from one or more directions.
ArcGIS Online offers two types of logins: those based on a public account and those based on an Organization. A public account is almost like you are not signed in, except you can save and share; there are no other special capacities, though saving and sharing public content are by themselves pretty powerful.
