Trimble Geo 7X height attribute?

We're considering a Trimble Geo 7x with rangefinder. Currently we're testing a unit and measuring with an offset works perfectly. What we would like to do is measure tree-height (which is possible with the rangefinder itself) and then store the height as an attribute in ArcPad. Any suggestions?
