HTML class attribute in custom popup configuration

Hi,

I have created a web map in portal that has custom html configured popups for several feature layers. I am wanting to be able to style the html (and transform some values client side) for the popups in my WAB app. However if I create a class attribute within a div in the custom popup configuration in portal it saves okay and is even visible in html using element inspection but seems to get stripped out when the popup is used from within WAB. Just wondering is there a work around or alternative workflow for deriving classes within popup HTML. So that these classes are then available through WAB?
