Deploying a dowloaded app Developer Edition with Portal

I'm confused about how to deploy the web app file download with Portal. The path to the GIS server is like this....... \\gisserver\Section\Apps\TestApp:

What should I enter as the URL during the "Add Item" process and do I use the port? What to enter as the URI's for the registration process?

How will completing the registration and proxy/add app ID to the .json file allow me to to open the app using http://gisserver/TestApp ?
