ArcPad Tools for ArcToolbox not available (ArcMap 10.3.1 ArcPad10.2)

Question

Hello,

When I open my toolbox in ArcMap "ArcPad Tools" do not display at all. I tried searching for the tools as well to no avail. I am especially confused by the problem because I am able to open "ArcPad Data Manager". Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I am trying to convert the .apm files that I have on my Trimble unit (TSC3) to .apx files that can be uploaded into ArcMap but have had no luck. If you have suggestions for how to do this without the toolbox that would be helpful too!

The installer for ArcPad for 10.2 doesn't always work 100% with ArcGIS 10.3+ for some reason.

The data manager toolbar is actually pre-installed in 10.3 before ArcPad is installed, it just needs to be activated under extensions.

Python scripting doesn't get activated during installation (works fine though with ArcPad 10.2 and ArcGIS 10.1)

Solution for missing toolbox:

You have to manually copy the "ArcPad tools.tbx" toolbox-file from your ArcPad 10.2 installation folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\ArcPad10.2\DesktopTools10.0\Toolboxes

-->  to your ArcGIS Desktop install folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.3\ArcToolbox\Toolboxes

Close and reopen your ArcMap/ArcCatalog if it was open and your ArcPad Toolbox should now be visible together with all the other standard toolboxes (below Analysis Tools, above Cartography Tools).

So it isn't a builtin arcmap toolbox, it is associated with another piece of software, so you may have to go to Customize, Extensions and check to see if there is an extension there.  Otherwise try Using the ArcToolbox window—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop and it the toolbox is installed where the other toolboxes are it may be listed, or it may be listed where you downloaded the arcpad tools

It shouldn't be. It is my understanding that when you download the ArcPad software, both "ArcPad data manager" and "ArcPad Tools for ArcToolbox" should be readily available to use in ArcMap 10.3.1. However, I am only able to access the data manager, not the toolbox.
