Area calculation of a large number of polygons

hello
i have converted a raster classified image to vector..
the polygons belongs to different features like
evergreen forests: 30 polygons
semievergreen: 80 polygons
Moist decidous forest: 120 polygons etc
how can i calculate the entire area of evergreen forests, semievergreen, etc

If you already have the area calculated (if not, use Calculate Geometry) then use Summarize to sum the areas per each classification.
You can do all of this from the table within ArcMap...
