Why does the file size of a feature class in an enterprise geodatabase increases when it is copied to a file geodatabase?

I was wondering and hoping to get some inputs as to why the file size change when copied from an egdb to fgdb. The file that i copied has 11gb from the egdb but after copying to fgdb it became 60gb. The increase is very significant considering i just copied the file using a copy/paste method. Is there any other way of copying a file without increasing the file size?
