Question

Error while starting AppServer.  Required port '4000' already in use.'

I tried to start a service but I got the error below:

ERROR: Failed to start the server machine 'JAMAL-SONY'. Error while starting AppServer.  Required port '4000' already in use.'

[ATTACH=CONFIG]31112[/ATTACH]

What might be the issue here?

See if you can find out which process is using this port:

I tried the solution provided but didn�??t work

1. Start\stop the ArcGIS Server service
2. ending the javaw.exe (I couldn�??t find it among the processes)

[ATTACH=CONFIG]31116[/ATTACH]

What other issues should I check?
