I'm noticing a bug where a new file isn't being seen by pro to be added, I keep needing to close and reopen a project for it to be visible.
tried this for .csv and.xls and they are visible in arcmap 10.7.1
David - I think what you may be experiencing is a refresh issue that I've seen in AGP for quite some time. I tested both a *.csv and a *.xls file and can see/add both. In the Add Data pane, go to the far upper right of the UI and click the circular arrow to refresh the Add Data pane. You "should" see the *.csv and/or the *.xls file.
