Secured Feature Service and Smart Editor issues...

I'm in Web AppBuilder 2.1 and I'm trying to get the Smart Editor configured and noticed that when I use a secured feature service the widget doesn't seem to "see" the service but it will work with an unsecured feature service. I don't have this problem with the other edit widget. Has anyone else found this problem? Is it just bug in the code? Anyone know a work around?
