How to find Valves that are not splitting the Main

Question

This is a a common problem within a utility geometric network and I wanted to share with you all. You may say why is this important because if your valves do not split a sewer main for instance when you perform a trace operation it will skip over the valve because of the rules setup within a geometric network.

I have attached a screen shot on how to configure the data check. Now you can find valves (junctions) that need to be split. Hope this helps. Happy trails and happy tracing.

I never thought about using within before.  I usually use not touching.  This will find where they don't break a main and where they are not connected too.  Thanks for sharing Jonah!
