I have a postgres 9.4/postGIS 2.2 database. I can preview the geometry in ArcCatalog but cannot see the attributes. The attribute table appears to be empty though data is thereany suggestions

I have a postgres 9.4/postgis 2.2 spatial database. I can see the geometry of the feature classes in ArcCatalog but the attribute table appears to be empty. Consequently I cannot view the data in ArcMap. Any ideas why this issue may be arising? any suggestion on what I can do to get it to see the attribute tables?
