ArcMap and MySql

Hello;

I wanted to create a query layer using a query from mysql. I found it possible to from MSSql and I was able to perfrom joins from the queries created from MSSQL . I went through posts about Mysql and was able to create a connector in ARCCatalog and it inturn appear in my ARCMap dataconnections . Eventhough I was not able to use the connector and create a querylayer. I tried tools like "Make Query Layer" but was of no use . Can anyone help me with this . I'm pretty new to ARCMAP .
