I am trying to find how many people (from a dataset) live within 30 minutes of driving from the centroid of a ZIP code.
Do you have access to ArcGIS Online?
If you do you could use the Enrich Layer tool in the analysis tools - this does consume ArcGIS Online credits so you need the correct user role/ privillages
This should give you a result you are after.
